The Curitiba of the Gralha is a character on itself, where all the characteristics of the real Curitiba City are exaggerated. In other words, it is provincial, but it is big as the megalopolises of any "futuristics" comics. Located in an uncertain future, it grew so much to the point of to include the adjacent municipal districts as their neighborhoods. Finally, it is still the capital of Paraná, and a pride to his country. Or he wants us to think like this...
And as the nationalism is "in" in that time "not very distant" (an old good hero cliché), the architecture of this city expresses all the pride that people have of this land. Living together with a sea of giant sky-scrapers is pine trees and many, a lot of trees. Many of those planted even in the top of the buildings, forming true suspended gardens.
A surreal landscape , where bold buildings live together, old architecture (lambrequins and other typical things.) with a lot, a lot of green. What demonstrates that, still in the future, the city wants to maintain the title of ecological capital, being clear the importance that the administrations always had with the urbanization and the environment (at least downtown). Contrasting like this with the fictitious cities like shady Gotham City or even Metrópolis, just a bunch of lifeless concrete. Curitiba City breathes. The problem is the rain of ripe pine seeds in the winter.
The city seems to increase ordinate and infinitely (appearing proud of its "vocation" for the progress), even reaching to the Atlantic Ocean. Besides it (seemingly) it worries about the quality of their inhabitants' life. Without speaking in the concern with the transport, that it is the most modern of the country, with an integrated system where it is possible to travel the whole city with a single passage and in record time. The public transportations are made in subways of surfaces in the format of tubes, in nostalgic allusion to the current stations that populate the city. There are also countless high roads cutting the city in several levels. Finally, seemingly it is a city more than Utopian. Image that explored by their rulers, that attract millions of tourists and naive migrants all of the years. After all, who would not like to live in such a good city?

- Damned mouth - other decadent area of the old city, as well as the Public Park, is criminals' stronghold and traffickers. Many tourists feel atracted for the fascination that the criminals have. And they don't return more... The piece of advice of the Public Park is also worth here.

- Belt of Slums - Surrounding the whole extension of the city, there is aBig Slum where the migrants live and excluded from the Utopia (at less is what says the opposition). The government never admits it, and consider the Belt of Sums another district of the Curitiba City.

A Curitiba do Gralha é um personagem à parte em seu universo, onde todas as características da verdadeira são elevadas à enésima potência. Ou seja, ela é provinciana como a verdadeira, mas é grande como as megalópoles de qualquer hq "futureba" que se preze. Localizada num futuro indeterminado, ela cresceu tanto a ponto de englobar os municípios adjacentes como bairros seus. Enfim, ela ainda é a capital do Paraná (na verdade, agora ela é o próprio), e um orgulho para o seu país. Ou quer que pensemos assim...

E como o ufanismo anda em alta nessa época "não muito distante" (como reza a cartilha de todo bom clichê de herói), a arquitetura curitibana exprime todo o orgulho que essa gente tem de sua terra. Convivendo com um mar de arranha-céus gigantescos estão pinheiros e muitas, muitas árvores. Muitas dessas plantadas até mesmo no topo dos edifícios, formando verdadeiros jardins suspensos.

Uma paisagem surreal, onde convivem prédios arrojados, arquitetura antiga (lambrequins e coisas tipicamente curitibocas...) com muito, muito, muito verde. O que demonstra que, ainda no futuro, a cidade quer manter o título de capital ecológica, ficando clara a importância que as administrações sempre tiveram com a urbanização e o meio ambiente (pelo menos no centro da cidade). Contrastando assim com as cidades fictícias como a sombria Gotham City ou mesmo Metrópolis, que nada mais são do que um agolomerado de concreto sem vida. Curitiba respira. O problema é a chuva de pinhões maduros no inverno.

A cidade parece crescer ordenada e infinitamente (transparecendo orgulhosa sua "vocação" para o progresso), chegando até mesmo ao Atlântico. Além disso ela (aparentemente) se preocupa com a qualidade de vida de seus habitantes. Sem falar na preocupação com o transporte, que é o mais moderno do país, com um sistema integrado onde é possível percorrer toda a cidade com uma única passagem e em tempo recorde. Os transportes públicos são feitos em metrôs de superfícies no formato de tubos, em alusão nostálgica às atuais estações que povoam a cidade. Há também inúmeras vias elevadas cortando a cidade em diversos níveis. Enfim, aparentemente é uma cidade mais que utópica. Imagem essa explorada pelos seus governantes, que atraem milhões de turistas e migrantes ingênuos todos os anos. Afinal, quem não gostaria de viver numa cidade tão bacana assim?
